• Grade 4 Social Studies

Grade 4 Social Studies curriculum and content is driven by the Pennsylvania State Academic Standards in Economics, Geography, History, Civics and Government. The elementary level of the standards describes what students in Grade 3 through Grade 8 should know and be able to do. At the Fourth Grade level, students will continue a study of their neighborhoods, communities, city, state and nation. Examples of what students should know and be able to do are explain rules and laws for the classroom, school, community, and state, identify state symbols, national symbols, and national holidays, identify the effect of the physical systems on people within a community and locate historical documents, artifacts, and places critical to Pennsylvania history.
