Financial Aid Information for Seniors and Families

Seniors and Parents, this is a reminder that FAFSA Night will be taking place at Erie High School on February 1st from 4 to 7 p.m. Students and families from all Erie high schools (Erie High, Collegiate Academy, Emerson Gridley) can attend.

To fill out the FAFSA form during this event, students must have created their own FSA ID at least 4 days in advance of the workshop. Additionally, any contributor of information to the FAFSA such as a parent(s) also need to create an FSA ID at least 4 days in advance of the workshop. Without both FSA ID’s you will not be able to complete the FAFSA Form.

For assistance in filing for an FSA ID please visit studentaid.gov/fsa-id to create an FSA ID.  This is something that must be completed now. A Social Security number is required for to create a FSA ID. Parent(s) that have an FSA ID that they previously used, should log into studentaid.gov/fsa-id  as they may need to update their password.  During the workshop, students and parents will need to have access to text messages and personal email accounts.

When students and parents use their Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID to log in to the online FAFSA, it will require a two-step verification process.  Each time an FSA ID is used to log in, a one-time code is delivered via email, text message, or an authenticator app. As always please reach out to your child’s school counselor for assistance.
