40% Classwork – Assignments and group work that is expected to be finished in the classroom will result in 40% of your grade. Scoring for assignments will range from rubrics, completion, participation, legitimacy of attempt, and/or correctness.

    Supplies:

You need the following items in class daily:

    • Algebra 1 book *Space provided to leave in classroom.

    • Something to write with and something to write on (like a notebook).

    • The district provided Chromebook.

    Classroom Policies and Rules:

    • Every student is expected to treat everyone and everything in the room with respect. This includes, but is not limited to, not talking while the teacher is talking or trying to make announcements; not calling anyone else's names or insulting them, keeping your hands to yourself, no foul language, among other things.

    • Cell phones are not to be out during classroom instruction. You will be warned to put it away and keep it away. There are times where we may use Kahoots or another educational purpose and your phones will then be used for that educational purpose only.

    • Work is to be shown on all assignments and often on a separate sheet of paper.

    Attendance and Late Work Policies:

    • School Policies on attendance will apply. Unexcused absences could result in automatic zeros for assignments.

    • If you miss class for whatever reason, you will be responsible for missing assignments, notes, and any information you might have missed. Please see me or a classmate for what you may have missed before the following class. It is especially important that you learn what you have missed as math concepts build off one another and it will be extremely difficult to build knowledge on something you missed when you were out.

    • Assignments remain open from the date issued until the date of the unit test. It is advised that you get assignments done prior to the start of the next lesson and not to let assignments “pile up.”

    Schoology and Chromebooks:

    • All independent classwork will be done on Schoology and/or Reveal. This is to provide you with the quickest feedback possible.

    • Paper copies of assignments are available in the textbook. Students should work out questions in the book but submit their answers online.

    • Chromebooks will be allowed to be used at the start and end of class for assignments but will be away during instruction unless the lesson calls for it.
