• Fitnessgram
Students at Collegiate Academy will participate in the FITNESSGRAM Assessment twice a semester.  The assessments will be adminstratered in the beginning and the end of the semester.  The scores are not calculated into the students grades.  You can find your child's scores posted on infinate campus.
Fitness and activity assessment is one important component of a physical education curriculum, but it is just the beginning.  How do you provide meaningful physical activity and help students gain fitness knowledge that will not only improve their current levels of physical fitness, but teach them how to stay physically fit after they leave Collegiate Academy and enter the adult world?
    FITNESSGRAM Overview:
FITNESSGRAM is a fitness assessment and reporting program for youth developed by The Cooper Institute.  The assessment includes a variety of health-related physical fitness tests that assess cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition.  Scores from these assessments are compared to Healthy Fitness Zone standards to determine students' overall physical fitness and suggest areas for improvement.
    The tests include:
    • PACER
    • Push-ups
    • Curl-ups
    • Trunk Lifts
    • Body Composition

The Healthy Fitness Zone standards are not based on class averages or any other peer comparisons.  They are based on levels of fitness needed for good health.  The standards are set specifically for boys and girls of various ages.
