• Academic Enhancement Policy

Academic enhancement allows students a period to work on projects, homework, or studying for exams. But academic enhancement periods reduce the total number of credits that a student earns; therefore, students should carefully consider whether to schedule an academic enhancement. Students taking academic enhancement are expected to be working throughout the period. This time is not to be used as downtime, time to rest, or free time. Students may schedule one academic enhancement for every two AP classes that they take, and students can schedule no more than two academic enhancements per school year. Dual enrollment students may schedule academic enhancements at the same time as a college class in order to facilitate travel and missing Collegiate Academy classes. These academic enhancements must be scheduled with a counselor at the start of each semester.
